Sun in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Libra

Wise Old Man of the Mountain or Bon Vivant? Or maybe a little bit of both. Sun in Sagittarius definitely gets some love from Jupiter in Charming Libra. Sagittarius vision, good spirits and humor finds its rhythm in Libra’s harmonies and Jupiter’s expansive influence, often on a very public scale.

Children’s author, Carlo Collodi (1826), created the classic fairy tale novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio, about a naughty, pine-wood marionette who gains wisdom through a series of misadventures and earns his wish to become human as reward for his good deeds.

Is Pinocchio a Sagittarius? If the wooden shoe fits… The author certainly is. The allegorical tale has been retold and adapted so often that there probably isn’t a kid alive who hasn’t read or seen the story. Perhaps in deepest darkest Africa, but even there I have my doubts. Jupiter in Libra’s reach is extensive.

Mexican painter, Diego Rivera (1886), had a profound effect on the international art and architecture world with his public murals. He was a Jupiter in Libra populist, politically and artistically. One his greatest legacies was his impact on America’s conception of public art with his depictions of scenes of American life on public buildings. Both his original painting style and the force of his ideas remain major influences on American painting. His radical political views and tempestuous Libra romances and marriage to Frieda Kahlo also continue as a source of public intrigue.

Of course, a Sagittarius mainstay is humor. Is there any social or political humorist that isn’t a Sagittarius? I am sure there are somewhere but I can’t think of any.

Comedian and actor, Flip Wilson (1933), hosted The Flip Wilson Show generated high ratings and popularity as well as strong critical acclaim with eleven Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe. He was also featured on the cover of Time Magazine. Several catchphrases from his routines have become part of the American lexicon, including, “The Devil made me do it” and “What you see is what you get.”

And by the way, Wilson also played the Cat in a televised musical version of Pinocchio.

Sketch comedian, Tim Conway (1933), made his name as the bumbling, naive Ensign on the WWII sitcom McHale’s Navy and as a co-star on The Carol Burnett Show. His characters were so funny that he was able to make his co-stars lose control and laugh.

Goldie Hawn (1945), got her start on the sketch comedy television show, Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. She was known for her giggle and her chipper attitude as well as for being in a bikini and body paint.

Margaret Cho (1968), is best known for her stand-up routines, through which she critiques social and political problems, especially those pertaining to race and sexuality.

Sagittarius and Libra together definitely feel the beat and connect musically. But Sagittarius brings a certain flair—a sense of humor and personality.

Smooth crooner Robert Goulet (1933), was known for his mustache almost as much as his music. The American Mustache Institute presents The Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year Award to the person who best-represents or contributes to the Mustached American community during that year.

The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler (1945), got her start singing in the Continental Baths, a gay bathhouse in New York. She made it part of her identity and titled one of albums Bathhouse Bette. She was recently acknowledged by the Songwriters Hall of Fame for having “captivated the world” with her stylish presentation and unmistakable voice.

Peter Kris, of the hard rock band Kiss, (1945), created the “Catman” character for his Kiss persona.

For the fly side of Sagittarius consider Sheila E. (1957). She got her career start as a drummer with Prince and Purple Rain. In her uniquely Sagittarius description of her style she says: “I always wanted to fly, to be the first female astronaut on the moon. It’s me running track, running free”.

Pinocchio would approve of that sentiment.

Jupiter in Lover Libra also can bring some luck to the relationship side for this native.

Rapper, Jay Z (1969), ranked as one of the greatest rappers ever, is also married to Beyonce.

For you Sagittarius Libra, there just isn’t a lot of downside. You are energetic, charming, funny, and popular and Jupiter in Libra’s need for partnership makes you a bit more romantically stable than some other Sagittarius combinations. You generally play well with others. You have rhythm and a great laugh. What else is there?

For Leo Sun in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Libra, partnerships formed with another person who has their Sun in an air sign, Libra, Aquarius, or Gemini, and or Jupiter in a fire sign, Leo, Sagittarius or Aries can prove to be a beneficial and prosperous combination.
